Men's Cross Country Wins LIU Fall Festival

The Central Connecticut men's cross country team won its first meet of the season taking the LIU Fall Festival. Samuel Whittaker finished second and led a group of six top-10 finishers for the Blue Devils.

NOTABLE

• Whittaker finished the 8K course in 25:32.6 to finish second and pace a group of five Blue Devils finishers.
• James Sullivan (25:47.1) finished third, while Jake Ireland (25:54.6), Aiden Budge (25:57.9) and Eddie Nicholas (25:58.7) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
• Yankarlos Diaz earned a top-10 finish with a time of 26:13.3.
• Calvin Young (26:30.8) rounded out the Blue Devils scorers, while Mark Rodriguez (26:33.8), Steven Baah-Mensah (27.49.6), Nick Fusco (27:59.1), Andrew Hedges (27:59.1), Joe Lauria (28:03.1), Logan Crowley (28:28.6), Gabriel Kwarteng (28:43.6), Jack Ciambria (28:57.8) and Dylan Forrester (28:57.8) also ran for CCSU.
