Men's Cross Country Takes Second at NEC Championships

The Blue Devils kept a strong pack of runners together at the beginning of the race, led by sophomore, James Sullivan. Sullivan eventually pulled away and earned himself a fourth-place finish (25:05.5) and was the first CCSU runner to cross the finish line.

Three more Blue Devils, Jake Ireland (25:23.1), Tim Lautenbach (25:26.4), and Yankarlos Diaz (25:27.9), finished in the top ten taking 7th, 8th, and 9th place, respectively.

A duo of freshmen secured spots in the top 20 for CCSU. Mark Rodriguez took 17th place with a time of 26:05.3, followed by Salvatore Masciarelli in 20th with a time of 26:15.3.

Four Blue Devils including, Sullivan, Ireland, Lautenbach, and Diaz, were named to the All-Conference Team.

The Blue Devils will have some time off before the NCAA Northeast Regionals on November 11th at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
