Cross Country Continues Season at NCAA Regional Championships, Friday
The Blue Devils travel to Buffalo, NY to compete against the Northeast's top talent.
On Friday, November 10 the Central Connecticut men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the 2017 NCAA DI Cross Country Regional Championships at Audobon Golf Course in Buffalo, NY. The women's 6K race will kick off the championship meet at 11:00 a.m. followed by the men's 10K run at noon. Full coverage of both races will be available on Facebook Live courtesy of the meet's host, the University of Buffalo.
The CCSU women's group of runners will set up shop in the 27th starting box and the men are assigned to box 11. Joining the Blue Devils in representation of the Northeast Conference is Sacred Heart, Wagner and Bryant.

The men's cross country team is coming off the most historical championship performances in NEC and school history. CCSU broke the Northeast Conference all-time record for most consecutive titles out of any sport on its home course, Stanley Quarter Park, on October 28. Junior Austin Trainor completed the 8,000 meter course in a blistering 25:54.8 as the 2017 individual runner-up.
The Central women are coming off of a notable team effort at the NEC Championships, finishing second to Sacred Heart. Junior Dawn Hubbell led the squad with a third place finish with a time of 18:02.4.
The 2017 Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year awarded belonged to CCSU for both the men and women. Jonathan Gill earned the honor for the men after finishing 13th overall with a time of 26:47.1. The female accolade was given to Megan Brawner after finishing the race at 18:21.8 in 11th place.
