Men's Cross Country Named USTFCCCA All-Academic
In addition to the team honor, senior Craig Hunt was honored as one of just 72 student-athletes in the country to receive an individual All-Academic award.
The Central Connecticut cross country team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as one of 160 men's programs in the country to earn All-Academic Team honors on Friday.

The Blue Devils, who raced to their sixth-consecutive Northeast Conference Championship this past season, earned the All-Academic Team honors for compiling a cumulative grade point average of over 3.00. CCSU was one of just two NEC men's teams to be awarded the All-Academic Team honor. The Blue Devils were joined by Saint Francis U on the list.
In addition to the impressive team honor, senior Craig Hunt was one of just 72 men in Division I who earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the 2013 cross country season. Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater and must have finished as an All-American or among the top 15 finishers (or 10 percent) in his regional meet. Hunt finished 25th at the 2013 NCAA East Regional competition out of 255 runners.

Hunt posted an impressive senior campaign, leading CCSU to the NEC Championship with his first place finish at the NECs. In addition to earning the NEC Individual Champion title, Hunt also led the Blue Devils to their first-ever New England Championship win with his fifth-place overall finish.
Hunt has earned several academic accolades. Most recently, the physical education major and three-time NEC Athlete of the Week was named NEC Fall Scholar Athlete.
Hunt is also competing on the CCSU indoor track and field team this season, which competes Saturday, February 15 at the Scarlet & White Invitational hosted by Boston University.
