Men's XC Finishes 13th at IC4A/ECACs
The CCSU men's cross country team ended its season on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team wrapped up 2012 competition on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the 104th IC4A/28th ECAC Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. The Blue Devils placed 13th out of 14 teams in the five mile race.
The top finisher for the Blue Devils was junior Andrew Hill, who crossed the finish line in 26:11.5 for 41st place out of 124 runners. Hill was followed by freshman David Scheibenpflug, who finished in 26:44.7 in 68th place and sophomore Patrick Hubbell, who placed 72nd with a time of 26:47.4. Sophomore Brian Biekert finished just three seconds after Hubbell in 75th place and redshirt freshman Matt Walker was the fifth from Central to cross the line at 26:56.8 in 84th place.
Senior Mike Waterbury and freshman Malcolm Connor also competed for Central in the race. Waterbury finished in 28:13.9 and Connor followed with a time of 29:03.5.
Central Connecticut earned 295 team points and was the only team to represent the Northeast Conference in the event.
Georgetown University placed first in the race with 45 points. George Mason came in second (56), followed by St. Joe's University (77) and Boston College (117). Harvard rounded out the top five, earning 162 points.
