Men's XC Finishes 6th at Ted Owen Invite
Sophomore Andy Pullaro was the first Blue Devil to cross the finish line.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished sixth out of 10 teams in the 10th Annual Ted Owen Cross Country Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT on Saturday.
Sophomore Andy Pullaro finished first for the Blue Devils, crossing the finish line in 26:19.69 for 10th place. Pullaro finished just under 51 seconds behind first place, Northeastern freshman Wesley Gallagher, and was followed by freshman David Scheibenpflug who finished just under 28 seconds later with a time of 26:47.02 for 18th place.
Sophomore Patrick Hubbell finished with a time of 27:47.11 for 41st place. Sophomore Joey Farrington (27:59.94) and senior Mike Waterbury (28:09.11) rounded out the scoring for Central coming in 47th and 55th place, respectively. Freshman Malcolm Conner also ran for CCSU and completed the race with a time of 28:55.21.
Northeastern placed first among the teams, followed by the University of Connecticut, Hartford, Wagner and Rhode Island. Central was followed by Marist (seventh) and Franklin Pierce finished eighth. Southern Connecticut and Fairleigh Dickinson rounded out the 11 team field.
The Blue Devils will return to action in the New England Championships at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA on Sunday, Oct. 7. The race will begin at 12 p.m.
