Men's XC Tops Quinnipiac in Dual-Meet

The Central Connecticut men's cross country team claimed a victory over the Quinnipiac Bobcats Saturday, 24-31, at the Quinnipiac University Invitational in Hamden, CT.
Junior Andrew Hill came in first place, finishing eight seconds before the nearest competitor with a time of 27:40.20. The next Blue Devil to cross the finish line was freshman David Scheibenpflug who came in fourth with a 27:49.80. Scheibenpflug finished just behind top Quinnipiac scorer Mike Levene who completed the race in 27.48.50 for third place.
Senior Mike Waterbury finished the race in 28:13.60, earning sixth place for Central. Waterbury was closely followed by sophomore Joey Farrington who finished seventh in 28:48.40. Freshman Malcolm Conner rounded out the scoring for CCSU with a time of 29:22.20.
This was the first dual-meet of the 2012 season for the Blue Devils. The team will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22 for its first home meet of the season, the Ted Owen Invitational, at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
