Football Receives Votes in Preseason Stats Perform FCS Top 25
Central Connecticut was among the schools also receiving votes in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 preseason poll released on Tuesday. CCSU collected 200 votes, the fourth-most among schools outside the top 25. North Dakota State was the unanimous choice atop the poll.
The Northeast Conference has postponed all 2020 fall sports and the Council of Presidents will reconvene again by October 1 to evaluate the public health crisis and competitive options moving forward.
CCSU finished the 2019 season ranked No. 23 in the final Stats Perform FCS Top 25 in 2019. Central is coming off a season in which it won a school-record 11 games and tied the school-record with eight-straight wins to end the regular season, finishing the regular season 11-1 with their only loss coming on the road to FBS member Eastern Michigan. The Blue Devils earned its second trip to the FCS playoffs where its season ended at Albany in the first round. CCSU also had six road wins, tied for the most in the nation, while posting an unblemished NEC record.
