
J'Von Brown Earns FCS Preseason All-America Recognition
Senior offensive lineman is a two-time All-NEC selection.
Central Connecticut senior offensive lineman J'Von Brown was named to the Hero Sports FCS Preseason All-America Second Team on Thursay. Brown was a preseason All-America selection by two publications before having his season cut short to injury last season. A two-time All-Northeast Conference First Team selection, Brown was one of two NEC student-athletes named on the three teams.

Brown was named a STATS FCS Preseason All-American, Athlon Preseason FCS All-America and Preseason All-Northeast Conference a season ago. He earned a Second Team STATS FCS All-America selection as a junior in 2018.
Brown, who earned All-Conference, All-ECAC and All-New England honors following the 2018 season, helped anchor an offensive line that allowed the Blue Devils to post 289.3 rushing yards per game in six conference games in 2018. They had 2,460 total rushing yards on the season and posted the nation's 21st best rushing attack at 223.6 yards per game on the ground. They also allowed just 0.73 sacks per game on the year, the seventh best total in the entire country. They allowed just eight sacks in 11 games. The Blue Devils led the country allowing just 32 tackles for a loss in the entire season.
The 2019 CCSU offense lead the NEC in scoring, total offense and rushing. Central averaged 214.2 yards on the ground, which ranked 17th nationally.
Central posted a school-record 11-2 mark in 2019 and were 7-0 in Northeast Conference play, to win the NEC crown for the second time in three seasons. The Blue Devils ranked 22nd in the season-ending Top 25 poll and advanced to the FCS Playoffs.
