Hurd Named Field Athlete of the Week in the NEC
After her performance at the UMass Flagship Invitational, Alissa Hurd was named the NEC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Alissa Hurd was named the NEC Field Athlete of the Week. This is the second week in a row the Blue Devils received Athlete of the Week in Indoor Track.
After her performance at the UMass Flagship Invitational, Alissa Hurd was named the NEC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. Brooke Morabito and Tamara Rawles were also named as an NEC Prime Performer for their performances at the UMass Invite on Sunday.
Hurd matched her season-best in the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters. The reigning NEC high jump champion finished in fourth at the meet. She ranks second in the conference for the event this season.
Hurd was also named a Prime Performer alongside teammate Brooke Morabito. Morabito placed first in the mile at the UMass Flagship Invitational, running a collegiate-best 4:49.16.
Tamara Rawles was also named a Prime Performer for her 5th-place finish in the 400m (57.94). Rawles ranks first in the NEC in this event.
The Blue Devils are back in action this weekend at the URI Invitational.
