Women's Track & Field Claims Third Straight NEC Indoor Title
Morabito takes home MVP and Most Outstanding Runner - Distance Awards, Perry claims Co-Most Valuable Field Performer as Blue Devils claim their third straight NEC Indoor Title.
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team placed first, with 125 points at the Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Staten Island New York on Monday. Unlike their 2023 victory, The Blue Devils had to come from behind after being in second after day one of the NEC Championship. Central netted 100 points on day two with four event winners.
KEY TRACK PERFORMANCES

Adriana Brathwaite took 4th in the 60m dash in 7.89 seconds to add five points to the Blue Devils total. Nuchwara Inthasit placed 8th (8.01) in the event to add one point.

Ashley Dana finished in first place in the mile with a 4:54.82 run claiming ten points for her team. Brooke Morabito kept pace with her teammate and finished 5-tenths of a second behind Dana to claim second (8 points). Dana came in first in the 800m (2:16.90) to add another ten points and continue the Blue Devils' dominance in distance runs.

Tamara Rawles finished in second place (57.07) in the 400m final to add eight points to Central's total.

Adriana Brathwaite placed fourth in the 200m dash (25.28) and Tamara Rawles came in sixth (25.28) for a combined eight points for CCSU.

Central Connecticut had three athletes in the top six in the 5000-meter run including Brooke Morabito who took first (17:56.51). Juliana Cancellieri finished in fourth (18:08.94), and Rebecca Carusone finished in sixth place (18:14.38)

The 4000m Distance Medley Relay team including Ashley Dana, Aaliyah Walker, Rachel Bartolucci, and Brooke Morabito took gold with a 12:03.47 time.

The 4x400 team took 5th place. Tamara Rawles, Kayla Logan, Adriana Brathwaite, and Nuchwara Inthasitpts ran a 4:08.22
KEY FIELD PERFORMANCES
- Alissa Hurd came in first in the high jump (1.71) to add 10 points to Central's total.
- Aaliyah Walker came in sixth place in the triple jump (11.37).
- Marina Perry placed fourth (15.44) in the weight throw to add five points to CCSU's total. Her performances on day one and two earned her Most Valuable Field Performer.
