Swimming And Diving Tabbed As NEC Favorite
The Blue Devils earned seven first-place votes in the coaches poll
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team was tabbed as the team to beat, earning seven first place votes in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll. The Blue Devils will be in search of a sixth NEC Championship.
The Blue Devils placed second at the 2022 NEC Championship, scoring 721 points, just 23 points shy of a team crown. The CCSU effort was paced Oustanding Swimmer of the Meet, Jeannette King, a sweep of medals in the 500 freestyle and Bill Ball and his staff earning Coaching Staff of the Year accolades.
CCSU opens the 2022-23 season this weekend at the two-day Fairfield Invitational. The Blue Devils open the home schedule October 22 versus NEC newcomer Stonehill.
The 2023 Northeast Conference championship meet will be held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, OH, February 21-25.
