Lacrosse Falls At Saint Francis
Levis posts game-highs in ground balls and caused turnovers
The Central Connecticut State lacrosse team completed a two-game road trip with a 16-5 loss to Northeast Conference host Saint Francis on Saturday. The loss drops the Blue Devils to 2-9 overall and 2-5 in league play, while the Red Flash improve to 6-5 on the season and 5-1 in NEC action.
The Blue Devils return home on Wednesday, April 10 to host Le Moyne on Arute Field. The 3:00 pm game begins a three-game homestand for the Blue Devils.
KEY MOMENTS
- Lauren Valluzzi put the Blue Devils on top in the first minute of play, netting a pass from Talie Richardson
- The Red Flash scored the next three goals of the quarter and the only goals of the second quarter to build an 8-1 halftime lead
- Makayla Winegar ended a nine-goal run by SFU with an unassisted tally at the 10:02 mark of the third quarter
- Shaelyn Yermal followed 32 seconds later for the Blue Devils and Bella Santos tallied a goal with 1:26 to play in the third, following two Red Flash tallies to make the deficit seven entering the final period
- Santos scored again, 33 ticks into the final period, netting a pass from Valluzzi for the Blue Devils fifth tally
