Radden Leads Central at Lafayette Rider Games
Freshman Aaron Radden broke his own school record in the 200 meters as Central Connecticut State University competed in the Lafayette Rider Winter Games on Friday. His time of 21.67 seconds topped his previous record of 22.03 seconds set at the Boston Indoor Games. Radden also took second in the 60 meter dash, setting another school record with a time of 6.97 seconds.

Lafayette Rider Winter Games on Friday. His time of 21.67 seconds
topped his previous record of 22.03 seconds set at the Boston
Indoor Games. Radden also took second in the 60 meter dash,
setting another school record with a time of 6.97 seconds.
Freshman Mohamed Hrezi was the only other Blue Devil to win an
event on Friday, taking first in the 800 meters with a time of
1:54.29. His time was less than a second off of the CCSU record in
the event. Sophomore Dan Watson added a 10th
place finish in the 800, crossing the line in 1:57.61.

Sam Alexander handled the
distance events for Central. The former placed second in the 5,000
meter run, recording a time of 15:16.50, while the latter took
fourth in the 3,000 in 8:41.94. Junior Shawn
Buchanan was the final Blue Devil to place on the track, as he
took fourth in the 500 meters (1:06.08).
A trio of sophomores did all the work in the field events for
CCSU. Matt Berube jumped 6.86
meters to place second in the long jump, while Nick
Trifone took third in the high jump with a mark of 1.94
meters. Rashad Williams was eighth
in the weight throw, recording a distance of 14.62 meters.
