Football Falls to Saint Francis U on Senior Day
Central Connecticut saw its football season come to a close with a 49-14 setback to Saint Francis U on Saturday at Arute Field in New Britain, CT. After taking a early lead, the Blue Devils were held scoreless for over two quarters as the Red Flash took control.
The Central offense was limited to just 160 total yards on offense. Elijah Howard ran for a team-high 46 yards for Central. Dan Toatley led the defense with six tackles

KEY MOMENTS
- Central took over at their own 41 after an interception by Harold Miles III ended the opening SFU drive. The Blue Devils' opening possession ended with an interception at the SFU 37 yardline but CCSU would force another turnover when Luquay Washington picked off an errant pass and returned it for a score to make it 7-0 just 4:37 into the game.
- The Red Flash would score on four straight drives to build a three-score lead going into halftime. The first drive covered 75 yards and was capped with a 13-yard pass from Cole Doyle to Dawson Snyder to tie the game at 7-all. The Red Flash covered 91 yards on their next scoring driving using 12 plays over 5:22. Doyle would connect with Jordan Jackson for a five-yard touchdown and make 14-7 early in the second quarter. Doyle would connect with Snyder again for a 32-yard score and his third passing score of the half before Jordan Jackson scampered in from 28 yards to make it 28-7 with just over four minutes to go in the half.
- SFU extended its lead midway through the third quarter on a pass from Doyle to Jake Bruno from 22 yards out. A pair of rushing touchdowns, from Jackson and Tobee Stokes, respectively, would push the Red Flash lead to 49-7.
- Barry Brown would punctuate a 15-play, 79-yard drive when he came in to run in the snap from two yards out to make it 49-14 with 5:35 to play.
