Baseball Falls to Stonehill in Friday Double Dip
The Central Connecticut baseball team dropped a pair of Northeast Conference games to Stonehill on Friday in New Britain. The Skyhawks took the first game, 11-2, before holding off the Blue Devils, 15-10, in game two. The games were played at CCSU due to unplayable field conditions at Stonehill.
The teams will wrap up the series on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game at CCSU Baseball Field. Stonehill will be the home team for the game.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Skyhawks would load the bases in the first inning and a single by Blaine Lidsky scored a pair of runs. Stonehill would add a run in the second inning after an error by CCSU put runners on second and third. Trey Ciulla-Hall hit a sac fly to make it 3-0.
- CCSU got within a run in the third inning. Brady Short and Hunter Pasqualini hit back-to-back singles and with two outs, Jeff Nicol drove in a run with a base-knock. Colby Brouillette made it four singles in the inning and plated a run to make it 3-2.
- Stonehill would come back with four runs on four hits in the third inning. Evan Dieter would single in a run before scoring on a bases loaded wild pitch. Sam Parks followed with a two-run single to make it 7-2.
- Stonehill would add a run in the sixth and three more in the eighth.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central opened the game with two runs in the first inning. A walk and an error put two runners on and Nicol would single in the opening run. Aidan Redahan followed with an RBI-groundout to make it 2-0.
- Stonehill would get a run in the bottom of the first and two more in the second to take the lead. Jack Thorbahn, Taylor Gaspar and Parks each had RBI hits to make it 3-2.
- A two-run third inning for Stonehill and a two-run double in the fifth by Gaspar would push the lead to 7-2.
- In the sixth inning, Josh Taylor hit a one-out double down the left field line. Joe Rios followed with a homerun to right field to cut the deficit to 7-4.
- After Lidsky hit a three-run triple in the bottom of the sixth, Rios would hit his second two-run homerun of the game, making it 10-6.
- The Skyhawks would come back with an RBI-double by Conor Kiely and a run-scoring single by Parks in the bottom of the seventh to push the lead to 12-6.
- The Blue Devils would add two more runs in the eighth inning before the Skyhawks responded with three runs.
- CCSU Taylor would lead off the ninth with a walk for CCSU. Chris Barkasy pinch-hit with one out and would hit a homerun to right field to make it 15-10, but Stonehill would close out the game with a strikeout.

- CCSU has dropped three straight contests to Stonehill.
- Short went 5-for-8 with three runs scored in the doubleheader.
- Rios would drive in four runs in the second game with a pair of homeruns.
- Brouillette went 3-for-3 in the first game.
- Taylor was 3-for-4 with three runs in the second game.
