Mendelson Named NEC Women's XC Athlete Of The Week
Brittany Mendelson topped 112 other runners last Friday and picked up NEC Athlete of the Week honors for her effort, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Brittany Mendelson of the Central Connecticut women's cross country team was named the Northeast Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after finishing first this past Friday at the CCSU Mini Meet. The NEC made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
Mendelson bested 112 other runners as she crossed the finish line first at Central Connecticut's own CCSU Mini Meet last Friday. Now a two-time NEC Athlete of the Week, Mendelson completed the 3K course with a time of 10:12.7. The Southbury, CT native was the first of four top-50 finishers for the Blue Devils, who finished fourth at the event.
Mendelson and Central now prepares for the 2015 Northeast Conference Championships to be held at Bryant University next weekend. The women's 5K race is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
