Women's XC Tabbed Fourth In NEC Preseason Coaches Poll
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team was picked to finish fourth in the Northeast Conference this year according to the NEC Preseason Poll, the league announced Friday afternoon.

Two-time defending NEC champion Sacred Heart was tabbed as the unanimous preseason favorite, earning nine first place votes. Bryant was slated second and Saint Francis U was tabbed third and received the remaining first place vote.
The Blue Devils were picked fourth after finishing fourth overall last season at the NEC Championships hosted by CCSU at Stanley Quarter Park, two spots better than their sixth place finish in 2013.
Robert Morris rounded out the top-five followed by Mount St. Mary's and Wagner in a tie for sixth. Fairleigh Dickinson was slotted to finish eighth and St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU Brooklyn rounded out the field in ninth and tenth respectively.
The Blue Devils open the season in two weeks on Saturday, September 5 at Stony Brook. The squad will also run at home meets for the Ted Owen Invitational on September 26 and the CCSU Mini Meet on October 23. The Northeast Conference Championships will take place on October 31 in Smithfield, RI, hosted by Bryant University.
