Women's Soccer Tops Bryant 1-0
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team defeated Bryant 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are now 8-8-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in Northeast Conference action. The Blue Devils were led by Clio Tregear's first half goal.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team defeated Bryant 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are now 8-8-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in Northeast Conference action. The Blue Devils were led by Clio Tregear's first half goal.
The Blue Devils took the lead on Tregears goal late in the first half. Senior Beth Lloyd's corner kick carried to the far side of the goal where Tregear redirected it behind the keeper for the score. It was Tregear's third goal of the season and Lloyd's fourth assist.
Central continued to attack offensively in the second half. The Blue Devils put a pair of shots in the net in the second half but both were disallowed because of offsides penalties. Defensively for the Blue Devils freshman Nikola Deiter saved all three shots that came at the net in the shutout victory.
The Blue Devils will return to action Friday when they host Fairleigh Dickinson at 3 p.m. on Arute Field.
