Blue Devils Drop 1-0 Decision on the Road at Long Island on Friday Night
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team dropped its second straight Northeast Conference match with a 1-0 defeat on the road at Long Island on Friday night. With the loss the Blue Devils are now 4-7 overall and 0-2 in NEC play. LIU in now 8-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the league. The play again on Sunday at Wagner.

straight Northeast Conference match with a 1-0 defeat on the road
at Long Island on Friday night. With the loss the Blue Devils are
now 4-7 overall and 0-2 in NEC play. LIU in now 8-1-1 overall and
2-0 in the league. The play again on Sunday at Wagner.
The game saw only three total shots on goal, with two coming from
the Blue Devils. The Blackbirds broke the 0-0 stalemate with the
game's only goal in the 75th minute of action.
Jen Spicer took a pass from Kayleigh Morgan and connected on a shot
from the right wing to the far post. Long Island ended the game
with a 6-5 edge in total shots, and a 4-1 advantage in corner
kicks.
The Blue Devils had a pair of shots on goal, both from senior Beth
Lloyd. Lloyd entered the game second in the country in goals
per game. She had 10 goals in her first eight games off the
season.
Long Island keeper Jessica Sexton, among the nation's leaders in
goals against average, made a pair of saves in net for the
victory.
The Blue Devils return to action on Sunday at Wagner at 1 p.m.
