Quinnipiac Tops Women's Soccer, 4-2, on Sunday Afternoon
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in Northeast Conference play with a 4-2 loss on the road at Quinnipiac on Sunday. Senior Beth Lloyd scored both goals in the game for the Blue Devils, and now leads the team with 10 goals on the season. It was her third multi-goal game of the season. Central returns to action on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Long Island.

The game was tied 2-2 at the half, after a pair of goals from Lloyd
for the Blue Devils.
Down 1-0, Lloyd scored her first goal of the game in the eighth
minute to tie the score at 1-1. She followed that up with her
second goal, in the 19th minute of the first half, to make it 2-1
in favor of Central. She took a pass from senior Abby
Graham to score the go-ahead goal.
Quinnipiac tied it up just before the half on a goal from Beck
Kiting.
The Bobcats took a 4-2 lead early in the second half. The two
goals came in a span of less than one minute. The first came from
Jillian Strassner with an assist from Kemesha Woodfine at 51:52.
Just 43 seconds later Strassner assisted Meagan McLoughlin for the
4-2 lead.
Freshman goalkeeper Nikola
Deiter made four saves in net for the Blue Devils.
The loss against the Bobcats is the first regular season NEC loss
for the Blue Devils since the 2008 season, a span of 13 conference
matches (12-0-1).
Central returns to action on Friday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. on the road
at Long Island. They will also play at Wagner next Sunday, Oct.
