Women's Basketball Closes Non-Conference Slate at Hartford Saturday
Central opens conference play on Friday, Jan. 2 against Robert Morris.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team closes its non-conference schedule against cross-town rival Hartford on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Chase Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN3. The Blue Devils look to earn its first win against Hartford since the 2013-14 season.
Both teams enter the contest searching for its first win of the season. This is the final non-conference game for Central, as Hartford plays Quinnipiac on December 29th before starting America East play. The Blue Devils are averaging 57.6 points per game led by junior Emma McCamus who is leading the team with 13.3 ppg. The Hawks average 46.5 a game and are led by Jada Lucas (12.3 ppg).

Last Time Out • Central played a two-game series in Florida recently falling to Florida Gulf Coast 94-60 on Tuesday. Junior Ashley Berube led Central with 15 points and five rebounds, her fifth double-digit game of the season. CCSU trailed by just four points at the end of the first quarter, but FGCU shot 63.2 percent (12-19) in the second quarter to extend the lead to 20 at the half and controlled the rest of the game.
Series History with the Hawks • This is the 33rd meeting between the two programs with Harford leading the overall series 24-8. Hartford has won the last five games against Central. The last time CCSU defeated UHart was November 26, 2013 with a 82-50 win in New Britain.
