Women's Basketball Welcomes Brown for Home Opener Thursday
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team welcomes Ivy League opponent Brown for its 2019-20 home opener on Thursday, Nov. 14 inside Detrick Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row. Tickets for regular season games are available HERE.
CCSU dropped its first two games, recently at Pittsburgh 81-73 Monday night. Brown enters the contest 1-1 coming off a 76-70 overtime win against Maine on Nov. 11.

Last Time Out • Central fell to ACC opponent Pittsburgh 81-73 Monday night. CCSU had a 47-32 halftime lead shooting 58.1% (18-31) from the floor including 10-15 (66.7%) from deep. A 24-5 third quarter run by the Panthers tied the game at 56 and the Blue Devils struggled to take care of the ball in the second half. Junior center Ashley Berube led Central with 18 points and five rebounds.
Focus on Forker • In the first two games, junior Ashley Forker is shotting .450 on the floor and .545 from behind the arc (6-11). Against Pitt, she made five triples shooting 5-9 from deep, scoring a career-high 15 points. The Telford, PA native is averaging 12.0 points per game along with 6.0 rebounds. Forker, along with junior Ashley Berube have both scored 24 points in the first two games.
Series History • Today's game marks the 15th meeting between the Blue Devils and the Bears. Brown holds a 9-6 advantage in the overall series. Last season, Brown defeated Central 68-63 in the season opener.
Most Recent for the Bears • The Bears earned its first win in overtime against Maine 76-70 on Monday night. Junior guard Dominique Leonidas scored a career-high 24 points.
With a Win... • CCSU would earn its first win of the season...It will be the first win against Brown since the 2010-11 season when CCSU beat the Bears 52-44...It would be the 150th career win for head coach Beryl Piper.
