Blue Devils Travel to Sunshine State
Central will play FAU on Sunday and Florida Gulf Coast Tuesday.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team travels to the sunshine state for two games starting at Florida Atlantic on Sunday, Dec. 15. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on FAU Sports TV. The Blue Devils are looking to snap an eight-game skid to earn their first win of the season. Following Sunday's contest, the team plays at Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday before returning to Connecticut to take on in-state rival Hartford for the final non-conference game on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Last Time Out • The Blue Devils lost to New Hampshire last Sunday 70-59. Despite a 17-2 run in the second quarter to take a six-point lead, the Wildcats held Central to just six points in the third quarter to lead 52-39 going into the final 10 minutes of action. UNH dominated inside and in transition with 34 points coming from the paint and 14 off fast breaks. Three players scored double-figures for the Blue Devils. Juniors Emma McCamus and Ashley Forker scored a dozen each, while Carly Reynolds scored a career-high 11 points shooting 3-4 from the floor and 5-5 from the foul line.
Series History with the Owls • This game marks the first ever match-up between the Blue Devils and the Owls. Central enters the game 0-8 on the year, as FAU is 5-3 on the season. This will be the first game for the Owls since hosting their Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 30.
Most Recent for FAU • Kansas snapped a four-game win streak for the Owls with a 90-60 win in the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament. Kansas jumped on the Owls to take a 13-point lead at the end of the opening quarter. FAU dropped 27 in the second to trail by just five points at halftime, however Kansas went onto win 90-60. Juliette Gauthier led the Owls with 18 points with three 3-pointers and five boards.
With a Win... • CCSU would earn its first win of the season snapping an eight-game skid...It would be the 150th career win for head coach Beryl Piper...Central would become 1-0 in series against the Owls.
