The Central Connecticut women's basketball team will host Mount St. Mary's on Monday night at Detrick Gymnasium. The Blue Devils (9-8, 3-4 NEC) and Mountaineers (9-10, 4-3 NEC) are scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. Fans can also watch live on NECFrontRow.com.
Here are some notes on the Blue Devils heading into Monday night's game:
Today • The Blue Devils (9-8, 3-4 NEC) host the Mountaineers of Mount St. Mary's (9-10, 4-3 NEC) at Detrick Gymnasium as the mid-point of the Northeast Conference scheduled approaches. CCSU and Mount both won in overtime on Saturday and both victories further tightened the NEC Standings. These teams will also meet next Monday night in Emmitsburg with the game being broadcast live on ESPN3.com.
Up Next • After hosting St. Francis BK and Mount, CCSU will hit the road to visit SFBK (1/1) and the Mount (1/3). CCSU's game against the Mount on Feb. 3 will air live on ESPN3. The Blue Devils will then play at Bryant (2/8) and host LIU Brooklyn (2/10) before traveling to Robert Morris (2/15) and Saint Francis U (2/17).
Series History • The Mount holds a 19-10 advantage in the all-time Division I series between these programs, but CCSU has played the Mountaineers much better under head coach Beryl Piper. During Piper's tenure the Blue Devils are 6-3 against the Mount and 4-1 at home, including a current four-game winning streak vs. the Mountaineers at Detrick.
Packed Standings • The Blue Devils are the only team in the NEC with a 3-4 record, which currently has them sitting in seventh place. However, CCSU is just two games out of second place and three behind first place Robert Morris. With the exception of first place Robert Morris (6-1) and last place Fairleigh Dickinson (0-7), eight teams are separated by just three games in places 2-9 in the standings.
Double-Digit Victories • A win tonight over Mount St. Mary's would give the Blue Devils 10 or more victories in six straight seasons. It would be the first six-year run of double-digit win totals in the history of CCSU women's basketball. Last year's 16 wins gave the Blue Devils five straight double-digit win seasons for the first time in the Division I era. The program also had a five-year run at the Division II level between 1975 and 1980.

Climbing the Career List • Senior Jessica Babe already third on the CCSU career steals list at 210, broke a tie with Paige Martin for fifth on CCSU's all-time assist list on Monday night. Babe now sits alone in fifth place with 341 career assists. She needs just three assists tonight to pass Sethe Thompson (343) for fourth on the career list.
In Overtime • Head Coach Beryl Piper has been very successful in overtime with a career record of 11-4 after Saturday's victory over St. Francis BK. The Blue Devils are 1-1 in OT games this season after posting a 4-1 record in extra time last year.

Seven of CCSU's eight home games have been decided by single-digits with six being decided by seven points or less. Two of the eight games have needed overtime.
