Ward Named Most Outstanding Field Performer, Three Blue Devils Named to All-NEC Team
Three Blue Devils were honored by the Northeast Conference.
The Northeast Conference released the 2019 Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Conference selections on Thursday afternoon honoring three Central Connecticut Blue Devils. For the second year in a row, junior Marquis Ward was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer for jumps after being named the 2019 NEC Champion in the men's high jump (2.01m).
Joining Ward on the All-NEC First Team was junior Roberto Piotto. The Glastonbury, CT native was crowned the 2019 NEC Champion after running the 5,000 meter run in 14:54.99. Junior Kevorni Welsh was the final Blue Devil to make first team. Welsh took home the gold in the men's long jump with a 7.11 meter leap.
