Green Among Winningest Active Coaches
Head coach Shaun Green is in his 31st season at the helm of the Blue Devils
Central Connecticut men's soccer coach Shaun Green enters the 2015 season among the top 10 winningest active coaches in the NCAA. Green has racked up a 261-242-56 in his time in charge of the Blue Devils, which currently ranks 8th among active coaches.
Green has guided the Blue Devils since 1985. He has guided the program to a Northeast Conference championship in 2007, which led to Central advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils picked up wins over 15th-ranked Harvard and 6th-ranked Tulsa to advance to the Round of 16. Before joining the NEC, the Blue Devils won a pair of Mid-Continent Conference regular season championships (1995, 1997) and a tournament title in 1995. CCSU advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1995 and set school records for wins (15), consecutive wins (12), shutouts (12) and goals (70).
The Blue Devils play their first 2015 home game on Sunday, September 6, when they host Massachusetts. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at CCSU Soccer Field.
