Men's Soccer Shuts Out Yale on the Road in 3-0 Victory on Wednesday Night
Sophomore forward Terrell Whitting scored twice and added an assist as the Central Connecticut men's soccer team shut out Yale on the road on Wednesday night 3-0. The win evens Central's record at 2-2, heading into a Friday night match at Stony Brook. Senior Robert Cavener added two assists and goalkeeper Anthony Occhialini made three saves in net to help preserve the win.

The Blue Devils got on the board in the first half on a goal from
sophomore Joel
Diamand, off an assist from Whitting. Whitting sent the ball
across the box, feeding Diamand, who sent it to the lower right
corner of the goal for the 1-0 lead.
The Blue Devils led 1-0 at the half. In the second half, they
scored twice, both by Whitting, to claim the 3-0 win. It is the
second shutout this season for Central.
Whitting's first goal of the season came off an assist from
Cavener. After a turnover at midfield, the senior captain fed the
ball behind the defense to Whitting who scored for the 2-0 lead at
51:26.
His second goal of the game came off a corner kick. He shot from
20-yards out and sent the ball to the lower left corner for the
final score of the game.
Central outshot Yale 12-9 in the match. Occhialini made three
saves in net in 82:51 of action. James
Perkins played the final 7:09 to help preseve the shutout.
