Sullivan Sets Record at Mini Meet, Men's Cross Country Tops Team Standings
James Sullivan and Jacob Ireland of the Central Connecticut State men's cross-country team finished first and second at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT, and both bested the previous meet record. Led by Sullivan and Ireland, the Blue Devils had four runners in the top-10 and won the team race with a total of 29 points, besting Providence which had 61 points.

NOTABLE
- Sullivan finished in 14:30.46, narrowly edging out Ireland who finished in 14:30.82 to lead the field of 84 runners.
- Brendan Mellitt finished eighth with a time of 14:51.74, while Mark Rodriguez was ninth with a time of 14:52.70.
- Aidan Budge finished 17th with a time of 15:05.02, while Eddie Nicholas finished in 15:06.36 to place 18th.
- Chris Abbey placed 23rd and had a time of 15:10.55
RACE NOTES
- Leakey Kipkosgei of AIC held the previous record with a time of 14:37.00 set in 2018.
- Joseph Lauria (15:16.96), Michael Kraszewski (15:21.40), Ryan McCauley (15.21.90) and Israel Caro IV (15:26.61) all earned top-7 places in the sub-varsity race. Steven Baah-Mensah (15:34.20), Nicholas Fusco (15:36.11), Andrew Hedges (15:39.21), Calvin Young (15:57.94) and Ryan Scappaticci (15:58.69) ran in the sub-varsity race for CCSU as well.
