Men's XC 10th at IC4A Championship Race
Senior Sam Alexander led the Blue Devils with a ninth place finish.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished 10th at the 2011 IC4A Cross Country Championship Race. The Blue Devils earned 223 team points, led by a pair of top-12 finishes.
Senior Sam Alexander was the top Blue Devil finisher he placed ninth running a 25:19 over the 5 mile course at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Alexander finished only 32 seconds behind the race winner.Junior Craig Hunt was not far behind. Hunt placed 12th with a 25:25 performance.
Junior John Krell was the next Central runner he finished 32nd, with a 25:47 time. Senior Jeremy Schmid finished 77th with a 26:21 performance and freshman Andy Pullaro turned in a 26:59 time to finish 100th.
Sophomore Andrew Hill finished 107th and freshman Patrick Hubbell 123rd to displace runners from other schools. They posted times of 27:05 and 27:33, respectively.
Joe Stilin of Princeton won the individual title. His team also captured the team championship. Princeton posted a team score of 50, while placing four runners in the top-15 and all five scoring runners in the top-20. Albany and La Salle finished second and third.
The Blue Devils finished tenth out of 17 teams in the race.
