Men's XC 14th, Alexander Places Third
Senior Sam Alexander finished third at the 2011 New England Cross Country Championships.
Central Connecticut senior Sam Alexander finished third at the 2011 New England Cross Country Championships. The Blue Devils finished 14th out of a field of 43 teams. As a team Central posted a score of 383.
Alexander paced the Blue Devils with a time of 24:39 to earn his third place finish. Alexander was only 27 seconds off the pace of American International College's Glarius Rop who won the race with a time of 24:55.
Junior Craig Hunt earned a 13th place finish with a 25:11 performance. Senior Anthony Gonsalves completed the course in 26:26 to take 89th and junior John Krell ran a 26:46 to finish 118th. Senior Jeremy Schmid finished 160th in a time of 27:16 to finish the Blue Devils scoring.
Sophomore Andrew Hill and freshman Andrew Pullaro finished 172 and 186, respectively. Hill ran a 27:25 and Pullaro a time of 27:36.
The University of Connecticut men took home the team title with a score of 149. Dartmouth and Boston University finished second and third, respectively.
The Blue Devil men will return to action on October 21, at the CCSU Mini Meet. That event will be the final tune-up before the Northeast Conference Championships.
