Kelly Brady Named NEC Rookie of the Week
The freshman scored her first career goal and added an assist to earn the honor.
Freshman Kelly Brady from the Central Connecticut women's soccer team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday. The forward from Tomkins Cove, NY posted a goal and an assist in the shutout victory over St. Francis Brooklyn.
Brady scored her first career goal in the season opener at the 50:00 mark off an assist from Roma McLaughin. The goal gave the Blue Devils a 4-0 lead over the Terriers of St. Francis Brooklyn. The freshman also collected her first assist after finding Jenna Rae Covello who scored the second goal for CCSU.
Juniors Roma McLaughlin and Amanda McQuilan were named NEC Prime Performers for week 2.
The Blue Devils stand at 1-0 in the young season.
