Women's Soccer Set to Face South Florida in Women's College Cup
The Blue Devils will take on the Bulls of USF in the first round of the women's college cup.
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team will take on the University of South Florida in the first round of the 2021 Women's College Cup. The Blue Devils won its third straight Northeast Conference Championship on Friday, shutting out LIU 4-0.
Central finished the season a perfect 7-0 and allowed just one goal in the seven games played. The team led the NEC regular season in shots (119), points (41), and goals (15). The Blue Devils also swept the six major conference awards, the first time a school accomplished the feat since 2006.
The USF Bulls also did not lose a match, going 9-0-2 and capturing the American Athletic Conference title for the second consecutive season. The game is slated to be the first matchup between both teams, as they have previously never met.
Kick off is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27 at 3:00 pm in Greensboro, NC. All games in the College Cup will be held in Cary, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. Games will be held on campus at Campbell, East Carolina and the University of North Carolina Wilmington, in addition to Bryan Park (Greensboro), J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex (Wilson), Sportsplex (Mathews) and WakeMed Soccer Park (Cary).
