Samora Watson Named Conference Player of The Week After Two Massive NEC Performances
Central Connecticut sophomore guard Samora Watson was named the NEC Player of the Week for the third time, respectively.
Samora Watson was named the NEC Player of the Week on Monday following her performances at Saint Francis and Merrimack this past week. She averaged a whopping 32 points in two games to seal two huge conference victories.
In the Blue Devils' 64-58 win over the Red Flash Waston poured in 27 points while coming one rebound shy of a double-double. She kept her scoring spree going on Saturday in a 78-71 win against the Warriors, coming one point off her career-high of 38 points and 5 points shy of breaking the school record for most points scored in a single game (42, Hope Linthicum).
- Watson leads the circuit in scoring with 18.1 points per game. She ranks 7th in the NEC in rebounding (5.9pg), 2nd in field goal pct, and 4th in free throw pct.
- 18.1 points per game this season for the league's highest scoring average since Merrimack's Denia Davis-Stewart averaged 18.5 ppg in 2019-20.
