Women's Basketball Begins NEC Slate vs Stonehill on Monday
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team begins Northeast Conference play on Monday at Stonehill. The 4:00 p.m. game will be streamed on NEC Front Row.

The Blue Devils and Skyhawks will meet for the third time in their brief history. Stonehill leads the all-time series, 2-0.

- The Blue Devils will play their first two NEC games at home and are opening the league slate at the Detrick Gym against The Seahawks for the 2nd straight season.
- Head coach Way Veney is in her first season at the helm of The Blue Devils.
- Central will host Saint Francis U. on Jan. 13 for Local Heroes Day. CCSU is on the road vs Merrimack on Jan. 15.

- Central would open Northeast Conference play 1-0, and win an NEC opener for the 1st time since 2021-22 (Jan. 8, 2021; 69-53, at Merrimack).
- Coach Way Veney would collect a win over her first northeast conference opponent.

- The Blue Devils enter Monday's matchup tallying 56 points per game, 16.4 fewer than the 72.4 Stonehill allows per contest.
- The Blue Devils are shooting 74.7 percent from the charity stripe as a team, good for first in the NEC. Samora Watson is leading Cent. Conn. St. with 3.0 made free throws a game (shooting 73 percent from the line)
- Watson is CCSU's top scorer, averaging 17.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game.
- Meghan Kenefick leads the Blue Devils with 5.6 rebounds per game and adds 8.8 points, while Lanpher paces the team with 3.2 assists and averages 13.4 points. Kenefick leads the team in made threes per game, knocking down one three-pointer per contest while shooting 28 percent from downtown.
