Kaitlin Paterson and Paige Stringer Earn NEC Honors
Paterson was named the NEC Player of the Week and Stringer earned her third Rookie of the Week award.
Senior Kaitlin Paterson was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week, while freshman Paige Stringer earned the NEC Rookie of the Week for the third time. The two players combined for 13 hits over the week and helped CCSU win four straight over Bryant.
Paterson went an efficient 5-6 (.833) and added three walks over the week. In the second game with Bryant, she blasted a three-run home run off the scoreboard in center field. In all, the Southington, CT native drove in six runs and failed to reach base just one time.
Rookie Paige Stringer finished the week 8-11 at the plate, good for a batting average of .727. She posted two 3-3 games versus Bryant and drove in five runs. She hit her 8th home run of the season in the first inning in game two of the double header on Sunday.
Both players were named NEC Prime Performers.
The Blue Devils host Sacred Heart tomorrow for the final two games of the four game series.
