Men's Soccer Falls at Merrimack in Season Finale
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team saw its season come to a close with a 3-1 loss at Merrimack on Thursday in North Andover, MA. The Blue Devils tied the game 1-1 just over eight minutes into the game, but the Warriors would score three times in the opening half and held off Central's attack in the second half.

KEY MOMENTS
- Merrimack opened the scoring just over six minutes into the game when Laurie Goddard controlled a throw in just over midfield. He would dribble to the top of the 18-yard box and took a low shot that slid into the right side of the net.
- CCSU would respond quickly, drawing a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box. Austin Rocke would step up and send his kick into the upper left corner to make it 1-1 at the 36:44 mark.
- Just over 20 minutes into the contest, Birk Martinsen got in behind the Warriors defense but his shot would be kicked away.
- The Warriors would go ahead minutes later when Goddard chipped a cross from the left side that Liam Ziegler headed in to make it 2-1.
- Merrimack doubled its lead with 16 minutes to play in the half. Herman Rugland controlled the ball in the attacking zone and sent a low bouncing shot to the left side of the net.
- Central would press its attack forward in the second half, but were unable to unlock the Merrimack defense.
