Men's Basketball Downed at Boston College
CCSU continues its road-swing with a trip to Dartmouth on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team fell at Boston College, 74-55, on Sunday at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, MA. Freshmen Greg Outlaw and Trey Tennyson led the Blue Devils in scoring, each posting a career-high. CCSU continues its road-swing with a trip to Dartmouth on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
Outlaw finished with 18 points, while Tennyson scored 10 points. Outlaw added seven rebounds. Junior Stephane Ayangma grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to match a personal-best. Central shot 18-of-46 (.391) from the field and 4-of-15 (.267) from three-point range. CCSU was 15-of-22 (682) at the foul line.
Julian Rishwain scored 18 points to lead four Eagles in double-figures. BC shot 27-of-67 (.403) from the field and was 6-of-27 (.222) from three-point range. BC went 14-of-17 (.824) from the foul line and outrebounded CCSU, 40-31.

"We're moving in the right direction," said head coach Donyell Marshall. "The team said they wanted to press, so we put it in. Sometimes you have to listen to the team. It gave us a spark, it was the first time we did it the entire game, and they did good with it."
KEY MOMENTS
- Central had a strong start, forcing BC to miss its first four field goal attempts. CCSU would go ahead 7-4 at the 16:20 mark following a three-pointer by freshman Jamir Reed.
- The Eagles responded with 11 unanswered points and outscored CCSU 16-4 over a span of 4:48 to build a 20-11 lead following five straight points.
- BC opened a double-digit lead after hitting 5-of-6 three-pointers. Five straight points by Derryck Thornton made it 28-15.
- Freshman Greg Outlaw ended a nearly five-minute field goal drought for the Blue Devils, hitting a three-pointer just before halftime to make it 35-23 at the intermission.
- Boston College opened the second half outscoring Central, 9-1. Six straight BC points pushed the lead to 44-24 and forced a CCSU timeout. After a three-pointer by Derryck Thornton extended the run to nine straight points, BC built its largest lead after it outscored CCSU 17-3 to open the second half.
- The Blue Devils would respond with a run of 12 straight points. Senior Jamir Coleman had five straight points in the spurt and freshman Trey Tennyson hit a three-pointer. Freshman Xavier Wilson hit two foul shots to make it 56-40.

- The teams were meeting for the second time in three seasons and for the sixth time all-time. BC has won each meeting.
- Outlaw had 8 points and 6 rebounds in the first half, en route to finishing with a career-high 18 points and 8 rebounds.
