Football Ends Workouts With Spring Game Friday Night
The Central Connecticut football spring season will end with the Blue-White Spring Scrimmage beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 22, on Arute Field. The game is open to the public and admission is free. Due to CCSU Spring Weekend events and other athletics contest, fans are being asked to park in the Copernicus Garage (PARKING INFORMATION).
The Blue Devils went 4-3 in Northeast Conference play in 2021 and were 4-7 overall. The game will feature two, 12-minute quarters with stoppages of the clock, followed by two quarters of running clock, lasting approximately 10 minutes each. The Blue Devils will feature the offense vs. the defense and a modified scoring system will be used.
The 2022 edition of the Blue Devils open the season on the road at UConn on Saturday, September 3. They play their first home game of the season the following week vs. Sacred Heart. Central will then play three consecutive road games at Southeastern Louisiana, UAlbany and Saint Francis U.
The Blue Devils will return home for Homecoming against Brown on October 8, before heading into the bye week.
Central will host Dusquesne (Oct. 22) and Wagner (Oct. 29) in back-to-back weeks. CCSU will close out the regular season at LIU (Nov. 5) before hosting Merrimack on Nov. 12.
