Blue Devils Move Up to #19 in Both FCS National Polls
CCSU is 7-1 on the season, 3-0 in Northeast Conference play
The Central Connecticut football team has moved up in both National FCS polls this week, following a 28-0 home shutout win over LIU last Saturday. Central allowed less than 100 yards of total offense to the Sharks, moving to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in Northeast Conference action. The Blue Devils, who are now ranked nationally for the third straight week, moved up in both national polls.
Central is now ranked #19 in the STATS FCS Top-25, matching their highest-ever ranking in the poll, which came during the 2006 season. Central was 25th two weeks ago, 23rd last week and comes in this week at #19. Their seven wins on the season are the second-highest total in the country.
The Blue Devils also moved up in the AFCA Coaches Poll this week. Central was 24 a week ago, and this week they make the move to #19.
The Blue Devils, who are among the national leaders with four road wins this season, take to the road and play at Wagner this Saturday, Nov. 2, at 12 p.m. The game will air live on NEC Front Row.
