Good and Torniero Drive in Four Each, Reyes Stifles LIU in Sunday's Finale
The Central Connecticut baseball team swept a three-game series with LIU, taking the finale 14-2, on Sunday in Northeast Conference action in Brookville, NY. Michael Torniero drove in four runs and had three hits, while Elliot Good also drove in four runs to power the offense. Randy Reyes tossed eight innings of one-run ball to collect the win on the mound.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils wasted no time putting runs on the board, accounting for nine runs in the first two innings. Hunter Pasqualini, the second batter of the game, would hit his first home run since April 2 to give CCSU a 2-0 lead. Torniero and Good would each drive in a run as Central batted around to build a 4-0 cushion.
- In the second inning, Torniero would hit a bases-loaded single to drive in two more runs and Good would hit a bases-clearing triple to make it a 9-0 lead for CCSU.
- Reyes, meanwhile, allowed only a lead off homerun in the second in what was an otherwise blemish-free start. He would allow only one runner to reach third base and struck out six, while allowing just four hits.
- Derek Haughey and Torniero each hit a sacrifice fly to plate runs and extend the Blue Devils' lead to 11-1 in the third inning.
- Good and Brady Short led off the fourth with consecutive hits and Kyle Gordon drove in a run on a sac fly before Ramon Jimenez would drive in another with a triple to make it 13-1.
- Gordon would hit a bases loaded single in the fifth to make it 14-1. The Sharks led off the ninth inning with another home run to close the day's scoring

- The Blue Devils own a 54-32 edge in the all-time series and swept the season series with LIU..
- With 30 wins on the season, CCSU topped the 30-win plateau for the first time since 2019 and for the ninth time under Charlie Hickey's direction.
- Torniero collected his seventh multi-hit game of the season.
- Jimenez hit his team-leading fourth triple of the season.
- Reyes made his first weekend start of the season and his first overall since facing #1 LSU on March 4.
- Sullivan extended his hitting streak to 12 games, going 2-for-5. He is batting .455 (20-for-44) with two home runs and nine runs scored since his streak began on April 14.
- The Blue Devils banged out 17 hits as a team, including six extra-base hits.
