KEY MOMENTS
- Central opened the game with a bang when Dan Hussey took a 2-1 pitch over the fence in right field to lead off the game with a homerun and make it 1-0.
- UConn took the lead with a two-run homer from Luke Broadhurst in the second to begin a run of the Huskies scoring in four straight innings. A pair of run scoring singles in the third and fourth innings and a RBI-groundout by Broadhurst made it a five-run game. Ryan Daniels doubled in a run in the fifth to make it 7-1.
- CCSU pushed across a run in the top of the seventh after loading the bases with three straight singles to open the inning. Hunter Pasqualini would drive in a run on a groundout to shortstop to make it 7-2.
- In the bottom of the seventh, the Huskies put the first two batters on before Bryan Padilla doubled them in. Two batters later, he would score on a groundout to make it 10-2.
- Central would open the eighth inning with three straight singles to load the bases. Derek Haughey would hit a sac fly to center to score a run, followed by an Elliot Good single to plate another and pull CCSU within, 10-4.
NOTES
- The Huskies lead the all-time series, 36-9, and have won the last seven meetings.
- Drew Munn made his third start of the season. He struck out a career-high four batters in 3.0 innings of work.
- The Blue Devils used a total of five pitchers in the midweek contest, but Munn was the only arm to record a strikeout.
- Mike Torniero had hits in his first two at bats and finished the game 3-of-4.
- Good went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
