Baseball Belts Three Homers in 13-2 Win Over Manhattan

The Central Connecticut baseball team erupted for a 13-2 win over Manhattan on Tuesday at CCSU Baseball Field. The Blue Devils batted around in the fourth inning for seven runs to break open the game. Senior Buddy Dewaine and sophomore Jack Nolan each had two runs batted in, while junior Peyton Stephens had three hits. Central improves to 4-8 on the year, while Manhattan slips to 3-10.

- Central was held at bay for the first three innings before batting around and scoring seven runs in the fourth. Nolan hit a bases-clearing triple to make it 4-1. Seniors Chris Kanios and Chandler Debrosse each had extra-base hits in the inning to drive in runs and junior Jay Devito had a RBI single to make it 7-1.
- Loda and Dewaine hit back-to-back homeruns to open the fifth inning as part of a three-run frame to make it 10-1.
- Stephens had an RBI-double in the sixth, while a solo homerun by Bowens and RBI-single by Dewaine in the seventh closed out the game's scoring.

- Loda hit his first homerun of the year, while Bowens and Dewaine each hit their second.
- Central banged out season-highs with 13 runs and 16 hits.
- Sophomore Ron Grant started for CCSU and allowed one run in 2.0 innings. He struck out two and scattered four hits with a walk.
- Senior Michael Delease tossed 3.0 shutout innings and allowed three hits with a walk and strikeout.
- Juniors Matt Shane and Dylan Sabia combined to toss 4.0 innings with four strikeouts. Shane was charged with a run.
