Ireland Tabbed NEC Cross Country Male Athlete Of The Week
Budge, Sullivan and Rodriquez named NEC Prime Performers
Jacob Ireland earned his first Northeast Conference cross-country male Athlete of the Week award honors on Wednesday, for his efforts at the Ted Owen Invitational. He is the second Blue Devil in as many races this fall to earn the accolade.
Ireland, an East Hampton, CT native, was the team's top finisher, placing third with a time of 25:00. That effort was just two seconds behind the runner-up.
The Blue Devils finished second on the team standings. Ireland along with Aidan Budge and James Sullivan finished in the top five, while Mark Rodriguez placed 13th. The quartet were all recognized as NEC Prime Performers.
The Blue Devils return to action on October 5th when they travel to Lehigh for the Paul Short Invitational.
