Men's Cross Country Finishes Runner-Up At Ted Owen Invite
Blue Devils place three in the fop five individuals
Three Central Connecticut State men's cross country team members placed in the top five of the individual standings to lead the Blue Devils to a runner-up team finish at the 20th Annual Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday. The 8K race was held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT. CCSU tallied 42 points, 18 behind team winner UMass, which scored 24 points.
The Blue Devils are back in action on October 5th when they travel to the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.

NOTABLE
- Jacob Ireland was the team's top finisher, crossing the line in third place with a time of 25:00, two seconds behind the second-place finisher
- Aidan Budge was next across the line at 25:07
- The third Blue Devil to cross was in fifth place, as James Sullivan clocked a time of 25:13
- Mark Rodriguez passed an opponent in the final meters to finish 13th, with a run of 26:05
- The final scorer for CCSU was Eddie Nicholas, who placed 19th overall, and 17th in scoring, with a run of 26:20
RACE NOTES
- UMass captured the top two individual spots, with Robert Carew winning with a run of 24:49, and John Lucey second at 24:58
- Five other NEC members, along with CCSU, competed at the event which will be the site of the 2024 NEC Championship, on November 1st.
- Wagner placed third with 86 points, one ahead of Stonehill in fourth place.
