Budge Tabbed NEC Athlete Of The Week
Finished sixth in season-opening race
Aidan Budge, a junior on the Central Connecticut State men's cross-country team, was named the Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week on Thursday. He took home the honor after leading the Blue Devils to a second place finish at the Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational on Saturday.
A native of Newtown, CT, Budge finished sixth in the race, running the 6K course in a time of 18:37.2.
Teammate Jacob Ireland was tabbed an NEC Prime Performer, after running 18:44.6 on Saturday, good for eighth place.
Budge, Ireland and the Blue Devils are back on the course on Saturday, September 21st to host the Ted Owen Invitational. The race will be held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
