On Saturday, the Central Connecticut State men's cross country team opened its 2024 campaign with a second-place finish at the Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational. The Blue Devils accumulated 53 points at the meet, while team champion and host UMass scored 17 points.

Course Length: 6,000m

NOTABLE:

  • Aidan Budge was the Blue Devils top finisher, running the 6K in a time of 18:37.2 to place sixth

  • Jake Ireland was eighth in the race, crossing the line at 18:44.6

  • Eddie Nicholas, Salvatore Masciarelli, and Mark Rodriquez finished in 12th, 13th, and 14th place respectively, within five seconds of each other from 19:05 to 19:10.0

The Blue Devils will be in action on September 21st when they host the Ted Owen Invitational. The race will be held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT
