Men's Cross Country Picked To Repeat As NEC Champions
The Blue Devils earned seven first place votes in the NEC coaches poll
The Central Connecticut State University men's cross country team was picked to repeat as the Northeast Conference champions it was announced on Monday. The Blue Devils were the popular pick of the league's coaches, collecting seven first place votes, while Wagner collected two votes.
- Head coach Eric Blake has guided the Blue Devils to 11 men's cross country championships since 2009.
- CCSU and Wagner have combined to win the past five NEC championships.
- Stonehill, LIU and Le Moyne rounded out the top five of the preseason poll.
- Central's James Sullivan won the NEC individual crown in 2023, the eighth Blue Devil to take the crown.
- The Blue Devils open the season at UMass in the Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational on August 31.
- CCSU will host the Ted Owen Invitational (Sep. 21) and CCSU Mini Meet (Oct. 25).
- The 2024 NEC Championships will be held in New Britain, CT, at Stanley Quarter Park on November 1.
