Men's Cross Country Runs Away with NEC Title
CCSU men's cross country took home its 10th Northeast Conference Championship Saturday as the Blue Devils had both the top runner and best overall team score.

KEY MOMENTS
- Eddie Nicholas moved from third place to a comfortable lead late in the race, keeping at a 5:10 mile pace. During the last stretch, Nicholas put even more distance between himself and the field, winning the race with a 25:41.50 time. The sophomore finished 16 seconds ahead of the second place runner.
- The Blue Devils kept a strong pack of runners together with Nicholas that created a sea of CCSU blue at the finish line. Colin Caso and Yankarlos Diaz, a rookie/veteran duo that each have had top five finishes this season, finished fourth and fifth, seperated by .5 seconds (26:01.10 and 26:01.60).
- James Sullivan, another freshman for the Blue Devils, kept himself in the top ten throughout the race and finished seventh with a time of 26:10.80.
- A duo of sophomores finished 11th and 12th as Greg McGuire (26:34.90) and Jake Ireland (26:39.10) crossed the line.
- Sean Oushana, the Blue Devils lone senior on the roster, finished 20th in the 8K with a time of 27:08.10. Elias Field (27:22.20) and Chris Abbey (27:35.40) were right behind Oushana, finishing 25th and 26th, respectively.
NOTES
- This is the team's first NEC Championship since the 2017 season, which was the last year of the Blue Devils' 9 season run of winning the title.
- Nicholas was named NEC Athlete of the Year for the win. Six Blue Devils were named to the All-Conference Team.
