Men's XC 17th at Regionals
Senior Sam Alexander was the top Blue Devil, he finished in 46th place.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished 17th at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Regional on Saturday. The field included 33 teams and the meet was held at the Audubon Golf Course near the campus of the University of Buffalo.
The Blue Devils were led by senior Sam Alexander who turned in a 32:35.7 performance to earn a 46th place finish. Alexander was the top Northeast Conference runner at the meet.
Junior Craig Hunt followed closely behind posting a 32:48.3 time. He finished in 57th place. Junior John Krell also finished among the top-100 at the meet. He finished 79th with a time of 33:16.7.
Senior Jeremy Schmid and freshman Brian Biekert wrapped the Blue Devils team score at 443. Schmid finished 112th with a 33:43.1 performance and Biekert turned in a 34:29.6 time to place 149th.
Senior Ben Lazarus and freshman Andy Pullaro displaced for the Blue Devils. Lazarus recorded a time of 35:15.7 and Pullaro posted a 35:39.6 performance.
The Blue Devils will return to action next weekend for the IC4A/ECAC Championships. That event will be hosted at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NY.
